Center provides free, printable Health Profiles of California counties

Need a quick snapshot of health in your county?
The UCLA Center for Health Policy Research now has easy-to-read and printable county-based Health Profiles on topics ranging from health insurance, obesity, exercise and more!

Some stats I pulled off their sheets about LA County:

  • 14.8% of the county is Asian, versus 12.9% of California
  • 1 in 5 people said they engaged in regular physical activity in the last week (Defined as those who reported at least 30 minutes of moderate activity (excluding walking) for 5 or more days in the last week or those who reported at least 20 minutes of vigorous activity for 3 or more days in the last week.)
  • 1 in 4 people said they ate fruits and vegetables 3 or more times yesterday (Sorry, fruit juice and french fries didn’t count in this.)
  • Both of these last stats are lower than the state average.

Some stats I pulled off their sheets about Orange County:

  • 17% of the county is Asian, versus 12.9% of California
  • A bit more than 1 in 5 people said they engaged in regular physical activity in the last week
  • About 1 in 4 people said they ate fruits and vegetables 3 or more times yesterday
