Lennox recently opened a brand new community garden with the help of great community efforts by a group called From Lot to Spot. They were able to work with Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas’ office to transform a 25-year old vacant lot, in to a beautiful community garden. This is the first of it’s kind in Lennox, and with a little under 20 community garden beds, it’s a great place for community members to be healthy, grow produce, and also grow relationships with others in their community they may not know.
Especially to this point, I’m happy to say that 4 of the plots belong to local Tongan families! The picture above was taken at the Lennox Community Garden grand opening with Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas’ office. We will keep you all updated on what happens with these plots. Stay tuned!
